Behind The Studio
Wish Upon A Calligraphy began from a deep love of paper, history, and the quiet beauty of things made by hand. Long before it was a studio, it was a practice — a devotion to craft, to tradition, and to the belief that the most meaningful details are the ones that remain long after the day has passed.
Founded by Nil Alban, a fine-art calligrapher and designer, her London-based studio is shaped by a lifelong fascination with old books, handwritten letters, and the poetry of traditional craftsmanship.
Every piece is still designed slowly, considered carefully, and finished by hand — because we believe an heirloom is never rushed.
This is not a fast process, and it is not meant to be. It is a collaborative, thoughtful journey, created for couples who value story, beauty, and meaning over trends and convenience. Inspired by architecture, romance, fine materials, and centuries-old craftsmanship, we believe stationery should be more than paper. It should tell a story — and become part of it.
